CBT can only be given by Approved Training Bodies (ABT’s) who have had their instructors assessed by the DSA and use sites approved by the DSA for off road training.

The CBT course involves five elements:

A. introduction- Legal Requirements, clothing chat
B. practical on-site training- Machine controls- maintenance chat
C. practical on-site riding- 8 exercises to complete
D. practical on-road training- pre-road briefing
E. practical on-road riding-min 2 hour road ride

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

When the CBT has been successfully completed (90%+pass rate with Bowlee) you will receive a certificate of completion of an Approved Training Course (DL196). A CBT certificate is valid for 2 years. Training begins in a safe off-road environment, where you will learn the basics of machine control, pulling away, changing gear, signalling, manoeuvring and stopping safely. Once you're confident and have reached a safe standard, your instructor will take you out for a two hour road ride. Instruction will continue via top quality bike-to-bike radios.

Pre CBT

The pre CBT course for riders who have little or no experience of operating other types of motor vehicles. This course is ideal for those that are unsure and would like to "dip their toes in" and test the water. The pre CBT is a 1 hour course and is conducted on a one-to-one basis in a safe off road environment.
