Using the table below, you can see the proportion of Appeals to The Crown Court from Sentencing decisions made in the Magistrates’ Court over a 12 month period

(figures based on our closed files between 01/11/10 – 31/10/11)

As you can see from the above, in almost half of the cases in which we disagreed with the decision of the Magistrates’ Court, the Appeal Judge in The Crown Court agreed with us and reduced the Sentences given by the Magistrates.
