Retail Graphic Design

Over a decade, working with Studio One, we developed 5 different strategies and formats for shopping magazines to promote various shopping centres in Melbourne. Central to our approach was to assume that the customer was more discerning and thoughtful than most retail communication assumes. Over the 10 year period our publications recorded between 12% and 28% increases in sales for the associated centres at the times of publication, making our clients very happy. The publications were diverse in style ranging from pocket sized information guides to fashion focused photographic essays. Our conclusion was that it was the quality that mattered, rather than tinkering with shifts in focus, a conclusion that has not endeared us to the marketing profession.
